THE Club’s AGM was held on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 when 30 members attended.

The Chairman, Margaret Headen, reported on another successful year during 2014.

The Club funds remained healthy but Club membership had dropped slightly so it was essential to encourage new members.

Members were reminded that their subscriptions were due at the March meeting.

The Chairman gave an overview of the programme arranged for 2015/16 including a coach trip to Thenford Arboretum and the Club’s now annual garden holiday.

The usual social event in June this year would take the form of a Gardeners’ Question Time.

Members were asked to provide questions for the panel during the meetings in March, April and May so that the panel could have sight of them prior to the GQT. The current Committee was re-elected en bloc with the exception of the current Secretary who has stepped down.

The Chairman thanked her Committee and other Club members for their continuing help and support.

The Chairman also expressed a wish for further members to come forward to join the Committee and who might help with secretarial duties and the website.

She emphasised that they were not onerous roles.

The Club could not run without a committee and it was necessary for newer members to join to ensure succession.

The AGM was followed by a quiz with questions on gardening (naturally), nature, Gloucestershire and general knowledge.

The Club’s next meeting is on Tuesday, March 3 at 7.45pm when Tom Price will talk and give a practical demonstration on growing orchids.

Non-members are welcome.

Refreshments are available from 7.30pm.
