JANUARY saw a well attended Annual General Meeting where Valerie Fussell was re-elected chairperson for the seventeenth successive year and tributes were paid to her organisational skills and total commitment.
Dave Raymond, the retiring treasurer, gave details of our financial situation which is extremely strong.
In the circumstances he said there was no need to increase annual subscriptions.
Valerie thanked him for the years he had served as treasurer and in particular the way he had handled a our finances.
There were two competitions during the evening, the red hedgerow class being won by Joyce Meadows with Christine Philp taking second place and Fred Gilpin third.
The aperitif was won by Fred Gilpin with John and Janice Coleman taking second and third places.
Brenda Marlow was thanked for judging the entries.
