MEMBERS and guests were welcomed to the March meeting by the Chairman, who stated that she had particularly enjoyed last month`s meeting and thanked Alan and Stuart for it.

Congratulations were extended to Desi Luckman on reaching her 80th Birthday, and best wishes for a speedy recovery to Adrienne Rudd following her operation.

This month`s committee meeting was held at the home of the Vice Chairman, where Stuart allowed us to take cuttings of his splendid Daphne of which there are 70 varieties of this evergreen shrub - the scent was an absolute knock-out, detected from a distance away, it is the biggest specimen I have ever seen, thank you Stuart and Elizabeth for your hospitality.

The next committee meeting will take place on Monday, April 13, at Rosebank.

If you have any gardening problems, comments or suggestions you would like the committee to discuss, please make us aware of them.

Mr Phillip Mugridge was then introduced to present his programme of "Gloucestershire Wildlife", illustrated by superb photographs bringing many ooh`s and ah`s from the audience, Phillip also brought along some of the many mounted photographs, some of which were for sale and enjoyed by everyone.

Stuart Gregory thanked Phillip for his very interesting presentation on behalf of everyone present.

This was followed by refreshments served by Margaret Wheatley, Judy Williams and Betty Clark.

Bookings were being taken for the day outings to Rosemoor and Knoll Gardens, these are also open to non members, there is still time to join the Club as a member, the subscription is just £11 per annum and has remained the same for the last three years, this entitles each member free entry to all Gardening Club meetings and social gatherings in the Hall, including the Christmas Party.

The raffle was drawn and the two lucky winners were Irene Byron and Val Flack.

The next meeting in the Village Hall will be on Tuesday, April 14, the subject presented by Ms G. Hazell will be "So You Think You Know Gladiolus".
