PUPILS from Stroud Valleys Community School became the first ever class to visit the new Learning Pavilion at the Museum in the Park on Tuesday, March 18.

Sam Dollimore-Jasan, from Year 1, cut a gold ribbon as Museum Manager, Kevin Ward, welcomed the group into the freshly- completed building.

'It has been such an exciting day for us all', said Ms Welch-Grey.

‘We've examined some amazing rocks and fossils, learned about habitats, dinosaurs and footprints - and then we found our own Jurassic fossils, in the Walled Garden. The Pavilion is a fabulous base for outside, active learning.’

The Pavilion, a flagship building funded by Gloucestershire Environmental Trust, Stroud District Council, and the Friends of the Museum, will soon be in full use by all school groups visiting the Museum.

The Friends are working to secure the final funding for an entranceway leading from the Museum reception, to enable all visitors to the Museum to enter and enjoy the Walled Garden.
