THERE were butterflies, lollipops and glue on Sunday, May 3.

Combine this with jolly songs, modern prayers and plenty of laughter and you have the recipe for STJ’s Family Worship and Praise.

The two famous STJ puppets Cedric and James also took part.

From babies in arms to those in their teens, youngsters were enthralled by the stories and craft activity that took place.

The theme for May was ‘Love one another as I have loved you’.

Youngsters made paper butterflies out of recycled card and attached a lollipop for the body.

They then wrote a small prayer on one side of the butterfly and decorated the other with buttons, glitter and coloured paper.

To round off the morning a buffet lunch was served.

Father John Rector and Parish Priest said ‘It’s been another wonderful morning of laughter and fun. Everyone enjoyed taking part in the craft activity and the older members of the congregation tested their knowledge by taking part in a word search. Next month the theme will be Jesus walking on water. I’m looking forward to the craft activity for that!'
