AGE UK Gloucestershire, a charity which has been providing vital services to older people in the county for 35 years, has appointed Rob Fountain (40) as new CEO.

Oxford educated Rob has a background in social work and has worked across both the public and charity sectors, supporting older people, vulnerable adults and disabled children.

Most recently, he has worked as a public sector consultant helping Councils and NHS services think differently about the delivery of services in an age of changing need and financial austerity.

Rob comments; “I’m delighted to join Age UK Gloucestershire at this exciting time and am particularly interested in how we engage the whole community in responding positively to ageing - something that impacts all of us.”

“The need for responsive services for older people is growing at a time when securing funding is becoming more challenging. My objective is to ensure that Age UK Gloucestershire grows and transforms so that we continue to respond to the needs of local older people and to help the public sector and wider community understand how best to promote independence and enjoyable later life for everyone.”
