Stroud Wine Circle
IN MAY the Circle staged their annual Wine Festival when five Circles were competing in four wine and one bitter beer class.
The individual class winners were as follows:- red dry, Alan Dean of Cheltenham; white dry, Bill Berrecloth from Brockworth; social red, Dave Marlow of Stroud; social white, Mike Marshall of Cheltenham with Brenda Marlow of Stroud winning the bitter beer class.
Taking the various placings into account, Brockworth were the overall winners although Stroud came first in the beer competition.
The Chairperson Valerie Fussell presented the winners trophy to Bill Berrecloth of Brockworth.
While the judges were carrying out their deliberations everyone else was dancing to the music of 'Shooting Stars'.
