Saint James Chatterbox Sports Day

THE cold winds and cloudy skies didn’t put the youngsters of Chatterbox, the pre-school ‘drop-in’ for babies and toddlers off enjoying their annual Sports Day on Tuesday, June 9.

The Sports Day was held in the grounds of the church

This is the second time the event has been held.

The day began at 10am when Father John Ward, Rector and Parish Priest officially opened the event.

There were a number of races including running, walking, jumping and egg and spoon. Refreshments were served throughout the morning

Father John Ward said “Although it was a little cold the youngsters didn’t mind a bit. We all took part and I think I won one of the races but the youngsters disagreed with me slightly over that! It was a great day and it was lovely to see the children laughing and really enjoying themselves. I’m sure a few of them were tired out after the hectic morning but they did love every minute of it.”
