Stroud Gardening Club

THE June meeting of the Stroud Gardening Club was a visit to Wesley Court to view the gardens, and this was an invitation from the residents to share their common room for tea and scones and cake.

The homemade scones and cake were supplied by Edna, and were declared delicious and enjoyed by everyone.

A raffle was drawn and this proved to be very popular.

There was a great deal of talk regarding the forthcoming Stroud Country Show on Saturday, July 18, and some plants were given to Jan by Gill Jobbins, to be sold from the Club's Plant Stall on the day.

We also received offers of help to man the stall, which will be accepted.

We just hope that the weather is good and the sun shines on everyone for the Show this year, after being soaked to the skin last year.

There is no July meeting, as members are involved with the Stroud Country Show, and no meeting in August, so the next Stroud Gardening Club meeting will be on September 16 at 7.30pm at The Congregational Church Rooms, Bedford Street, Stroud.

Everyone is welcome to attend as well as all members, when Michaela Freed will be demonstrating Planting Winter Containers.
