The Show organisers are hoping entries will increase in 2016 as it is so simple to enter this section, competitors need to bring bottles along on the morning of the Show together with the entry form and fees, and labels will be provided.

The Circle meeting in July consisted of a 'blind' tasting of wine made to a recipe given out in January.

John Coleman was adjudged the winner with Joyce Meadows second and Fred Gilpin third.

This was followed by a quiz when Dennis Nelmes posed the questions which all required answers consisting of place names within the county.

There were two competitions with the social red class being won by Gillian Gay with Dave Marlow second and Joyce Meadows third.

The Gwen Hayward trophy for liqueur was won by Roslyn Raymond with Dave Raymond second and Brenda Marlow third.

The judges were Alan Dean and Richard Carter from Cheltenham who also judge at Stroud Show.

They were thanked by Valerie Fussell the Circle chairperson.
