THE August meeting took quite a different format.

It began with a variety of activities for members - jumbled letters of spring flowers for members to resolve, floral material provided for everyone to make a buttonhole, a horticultural quiz and an opportunity to visit both Olive and Beryl’s gardens.

We all then returned to the hall for coffee, tea and cake.

There followed a short business meeting and members were sorry to hear that Nina Bishop had decided she would not be able to come to meetings any more.

Karen said that Nina had been a very loyal member for many years and her presence would be missed.

Members were reminded of dates and places for the next two luncheon club meetings, Thursday, September 24 at The Ram and Thursday, October 28, at The Bear, Bisley.

We were also asked to make our own way toThe Bisley Farm Shop for our visit on September 22 at 6.30pm.

Jill Thomas and Marion will be talking on Radio Gloucester on August 23 at 12 noon.

Eleven members so far have shown an interest in re-starting the book club and the craft group will meet at Pauline’s on September 30 from 2 – 4pm.

Our next meeting will be on September 15 when the talk will be on The History of Shirt Making.
