Saint James Chit Chat Birthday Party

IT WAS balloons, bunting and banter for the Chit Chatters at Saint James Church in Quedgeley on Thursday, September 24, as they celebrated their first birthday.

Over 30 people attended the party and celebrations kicked off with a birthday cake and light refreshments.

The venture is based on the same principles as Chatterbox, a very successful 'drop in' for parent and toddlers that meet in the church every Tuesday.

The venture is funded through Gloucestershire County Council Active Communities Grant with help from Quedgeley Community Trust and Tesco Stores Quedgeley.

The 'drop-in' is aimed at the Quedgeley and Kingsway elderly residents.

It meets every Thursday morning in the church from 10.00am -12noon.

Folk can stay for as little or as long as they wish within the two hours.

The cost is £1 per person; this covers the cost of the utilities and maintenance of the building.

Father John Rector and Parish Priest said “My thanks go to everyone who has put in the hard work to make this venture a success. Everyone enjoyed themselves this morning and we are looking forward to another successful year “.
