BUSSAGE Primary School recently got involved in the Great British Bake Off, in their own special way.

Sunday, October 11, saw all members of the Bussage community enjoying ‘The Great Bussage Bake Off’, while raising money for the school.

The day included children’s workshops, provided by The Sugar Craft Shop in Stonehouse and demonstrations from The Lavender Bakehouse in Chalford, and the whole venue was beautifully decorated with flowers donated by Jacaranda Flowers of Nailsworth.

The activities culminated with awards for entrants in different categories, judged by Hobbs House, The Lavender Bakehouse and Head Teacher of Bussage Primary School, Mr Ferguson.

The winners of the day included, Liberty Ross with her shortbread cupcakes in the ‘Little Bakes’ category, Jemela Coventry with her citrus poppy seed cake in the ‘Big Bakes’ category and Jessica Palfreyman with her creation of Smaug the Dragon as the ‘Show Stopper’.

The Beavers from the Eastcombe Friday Colony also got involved by taking care of the tidying up all afternoon, while working towards their ‘help in the community badge’.

The PTA would very much like to thank everyone involved for making the event such a wonderful, fun filled day.

It was a great success, only possible thanks to the generosity of everyone involved.
