Eastcombe WI: AGM

KAREN welcomed everyone and reminded members of events leading up to Christmas - November 27, the Lunch Club meet at Minchinhampton Golf Club, the Christmas meal and party on December 8, and the Group Carols at France Lynch on December 14.

The Craft Club will meet at Beryl’s on November 24.

This was followed by the AGM with Karen in the chair.

The minutes of the last AGM were read by Marion and Jean presented her financial report.

Marion then gave her account of the Institute’s activities during the last year.

Short reports were given of the different activities in which the Institute was involved during the year including the Trading Stall, The Lunch Club and the knitting of baby clothes for the premature baby unit at Southmead Hospital.

Karen said how successful various outings had been to eg the flour mill and Gloucester Services on the M5.

Karen as retiring President gave her report.

Twelve nominations had been received for the 2016 committee and all were elected.

Margery Lambert was elected unopposed as the new President.

Karen thanked Jenny for submitting reports of our activities to the Stroud News and Journal.

Glenys gave a vote of thanks to the retiring committee thanking Karen for her friendly and efficient time as President and congratulated them on an interesting, varied and successful year.

After refreshments all the wrapped presents that members had brought were auctioned with Beryl as a most able auctioneer.
