GLOUCESTERSHIRE Netball Fun League is offering Stroud ladies and their friends the chance to renew their love of netball and get fit, have fun and meet new people in the process.

The Netball Fun League has been running in other areas of Gloucestershire since 2009 and there are more than 1,400 players playing in the league almost every night of the week.

Now the NFL is coming to Stroud and the Forest of Dean with 'Back to Netball' coaching sessions.

These sessions are a gentle introduction to the sport for female players over sixteen years of age.

Sessions are coach led and cover basic skill development and court play.

Claire McGill, 41, joined the Back to Netball in Cheltenham scheme nearly five years ago and now plays netball three times a week.

She says: 'My commitment to netball helped me lose 20 kilos and get fit - and it reminded how much fun netball is. I loved it! The Netball Fun League really is FUN and I believe that netball is for everyone, whatever your standard or your fitness, so if you're interested in joining a team I'd encourage you to take that step. It's all very flexible and focuses on ensuring your Netball Fun League experience is a positive one for all abilities. I haven't looked back since I joined and my netball evenings are now my favourite evenings of the week!'

The Back to Netball programme is open to anyone.

New mums, groups of friends, teachers, and office workers are encouraged to join in.
