Leonard Stanley WI: Frome Valley Handbells and Cinderella
WE ARRIVED to find the committee had worked hard to make the village hall look festive for our annual Christmas party and soon tables were laden with appetising food and hot mulled wine.
Our new President, Maureen welcomed everyone, with a particular welcome to Audrey Clarke a long standing member who had recently moved to Bath.
Business was kept short and members were reminded that Mary would be hosting the Treasurer’s tea party on January 7, 2-4pm for payment of subs which were now £37.50.
Birthday posies were given to Chris Camm and Glenys and we were asked to bring the voting slips on the Resolutions from WI Life to the next meeting.
The January meeting will be a ‘hands on’ session painting bags which should be something to look forward to and the competition will be a ‘Favourite Xmas decoration’.
We then tucked into our meal, including delicious puddings and when full, sat back and enjoyed Frome Valley Handbells playing festive carols which made us all feel in the mood for Christmas.
This was followed by a no expense spared Pantomine of Cinderella performed ably by the committee who managed to get people laughing.
