STROUD Gardening Club held their Christmas Social on Wednesday, December 9, at the Congregational Church Rooms in Stroud.

The chairman, Ken Gracie welcomed everyone to the evening, and introduced our speaker Graham Johnson, who gave a very entertaining Santa Talk together with illustrated pictures and photographs, which was enjoyed by everyone.

After thanking Graham for his seasonal presentation, Ken invited everyone to enjoy the festive supper, and tea and coffee, which was a good social event to round off the meetings for 2015.

Stroud Gardening Club would like to wish all members, past and present, a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year.

We would also like to welcome anyone interested in joining the Club to our next meeting, as we would like to increase our membership in order to ensure the future success of the Club.

We have a varied programme, including garden visits, a variety of speakers, plant sales and social events.

Our Annual General Meeting is on February 17, 2016, and new members would be most welcome.

Our next meeting will be held on January 20, 2016 at 7.30pm when our speaker is Mr Roger Umpelby, and the topic will be "An alternative look at weeds", and is open to all members and non members.
