Oakridge WI: British Wild Orchids with The Two Sues

WHAT better way could there be than to join friends, and our new President, Celia Morrison-Smith, on a very cold January evening in the Village Hall, and after the short amount of business was conducted to be taken through sun-filled fields to look at wonderful British Orchids by two of our special friends, Sue Dodd and Sue Smith.

The Two Sues made a welcome return to entrance us with their beautiful slides and impart the history of British Wild Orchids.

This really was a brilliant start to the WI's 2016 year.

Subs were paid and we all look forward to what looks like a very interesting programme, we have much to offer so if anyone would like to join us please do come along to one of our meetings held in the village hall on the first Thursday in each month starting at 7.30pm.

You can be sure of the warmest welcome, and interesting speakers, and refreshments.

Date of the next meeting is February 11.

Venue and time as per usual.

Our Speaker will be Lindsey Braune with her talk entitled 'Life as an Auctioneer.'

Lindsey will also talk about any 'interesting item', which members are asked to bring for our monthly competition.

March 11, we will welcome Angela Hugman who will be speaking to us about osteoporosis.
