Stroud Wine Circle: The Annual General Meeting

THE AGM was held in January when Valerie Fussell was re-elected chairperson for the nineteenth consecutive year.

Neil Gow, the re-elected vice chairman, said over her time in office, the Wine Circle has prospered by its interaction with other circles and her organisational abilities have been first class.

After the conclusion of the AGM, members had a 'blind' tasting of a kiwi fruit wine recipe given out in January.

Fred Gilpin took first place with Christine Philp coming second.

There were two competitions judged by Dave and Roslyn Raymond, the red social wine was won by Dave Marlow with Fred Gilpin second and Joyce Meadows third.

The dry aperitif saw Joyce Meadows taking top spot with Dave Marlow second and Janice Coleman third.

The Circle does have vacancies for anyone interested in making wine, and in addition to our monthly meetings on the last Wednesday each month, at 7.30pm in the Stonehouse Community Centre, we engage in various other activities, such as weekends away, dances, attending other Wine Circle's dances and functions and barbecues.
