Saint James' Church, Quedgeley: Flipping lovely pancakes
WITH cardboard frying pans at the ready, youngsters at the popular Chatterbox drop in group in Quedgeley tested their skills in a pancake race up and down the aisles of Saint James’ Church, Quedgeley.
The pancakes were made from cardboard and brightly decorated by the youngsters, using glue sticks and coloured paper.
They then practised trying to flip the pancakes using their cardboard frying pans whilst walking down the aisles.
Parents and carers cheered them on.
Just so the children didn’t completely miss out their morning snack included the real thing – pancakes, which went down a treat!
Father John Rector and Parish Priest said “I’m not sure how many churches will be holding pancake races in their aisles today; I doubt there will be many. It’s not the first time we’ve attempted this and each year it gets better. I think the children enjoyed themselves and certainly loved eating the real ones!"
