Nailsworth & District Flower Arrangement Society: “Time for Hobbies” with Jayne Morris

AT OUR February 3, meeting, we were pleased to have our own Jayne Morris as demonstrator for the evening.

Jayne is now a qualified area demonstrator and will be exhibiting her work in Chelsea Flower Show again this year.

Jayne’s theme for her demonstration was “Time for Hobbies”.

These included some diverse but interesting activities, from winter sports, baking, reading and collecting children’s books, to gardening, and of course her favourite hobby Flower Arranging.

Throughout her demonstration she entertained the audience with her knowledge and expertise and also suggested places to purchase quality plants and flowers both for flower arranging, and for the garden.

Jayne wowed the audience with her stunning flower arrangements commencing with an all white arrangement representing a “Luge”.

A baking bowl containing flowers to simulate a ‘fruit cake’, an arrangement on a child’s chair, a cottage garden, and an old traditional design in a stone effect urn completed her wonderful demonstration.

We are very fortunate to have Jayne as a member of our club.

Winners of the competition “My Winter Garden” were: first - Elaine Bushby, second - Daphne Turner and third - Rose Grant.

On sale now! Tickets for our “Open Day” at Wycliffe College on Wednesday, April 6, at a cost of £32 include tea/coffee and a two course lunch.
