SAINT James’ Church in Quedgeley saw a bumper attendance for its Easter Sunday service.

More than 100 people attended the traditional service.

The children’s activity area was bustling as youngsters enthusiastically worked on the various craft activities.

Brightly coloured paper crosses using glue, coloured paper and card were eagerly produced by some of the youngsters whilst others preferred to colour in pre-printed pictures of the life and work of Jesus.

Every child received either a chocolate Easter bunny or egg after the service.

Father John Rector and Parish Priest said “It was a fantastic morning. It was a joy to see so many of the young families taking part in the Holy Communion service. Many people believe you have to be confirmed to take communion that is no longer the case. It’s good to see this myth slowly being broken”
