Nailsworth WI: Line Dancing with Keith Dench

IN FEBRUARY Paul Evans once again delighted us with his special blend of poems, anecdotes, monologues.

Laughter is such good therapy.

There was more fun at our birthday party (71st) on March 14, when Keith Dench gave us a lesson in Line Dancing.

He pointed out that Line Dancing is performed in many cultures throughout the world and probably has been around since our ancestors first started making music.

He explained that nowadays each Line Dance can be performed to many different tunes.

He is an excellent teacher and with the assistance of his helper Jane we had great fun learning the steps of several dances.

We found that concentration was needed to remember the steps and balance needed to fit them into the rhythm of the music and when the steps were learnt, their repetition was relaxing, quite mesmerising and it was very satisfactory to move with the other dancers in time to the music.

The energy required provided a good work-out too.

At our meeting on April 11, Michele Lazarus is giving a talk on ‘Hypnotherapy’ and how it can help with a huge range of health and other issues.

The meeting starts at 7.30pm in St George’s parish rooms Nailsworth.

We welcome guests to our meetings and if you would like more information please call on 01453 832 030 or 01453 832756.
