Bisley's George Stores is yarn-bombed to celebrate The Queen's Birthday

WOMEN'S Institute members in Bisley have 'yarn bombed' their local shop and post office to celebrate the Queen's 90th birthday.

People living in the village looked out of their windows on Sunday to see the George Stores festooned with colourful knitted bunting, pom-poms and even a woollen Queen and Duke of Edinburgh, accompanied by a corgi made by Jane Neighbour.

To prepare for the gesture, WI members took their crochet hooks and knitting needles along to a 'knit and natter' evening at the home of Alyson MacLeod.

"To celebrate the Queens 90th Birthday, the WI has requested members 'yarn bomb' their local area," explains Nadia French.

"Bisley WI decided to choose the door and gate of George Stores, which is a real focal point in the village.

"We decorated the building on a sunny Sunday afternoon and are really pleased with the result."
