Christian Comment with Nick Burne, Five Valleys Christian Fellowship

THIS last week I went to a Christian healing conference in Bristol.

To be completely honest I wasn’t in a good mood (I’m a grumpy bloke sometimes!) I arrived suspicious about the whole thing.

Over 600 people crammed into the largest church building available in the city.

These were people of all ages.

From hipster students to oldies.

This was the kind of meeting that a decade ago my 25 year old atheist-self would have been very afraid of.

People were experiencing and manifesting the power of God.

Shaking, screaming and other mad things.

When God deals with emotional and physical problems, things get stirred up.

During the two days Randy Clark (one of the foremost Christian healers people of the present day) shared story after story (some with videos) of miraculous healings from America and Brazil through to Norway and the Ukraine.

Thousands, if not millions of people encountering the love of God resulting not just in healing, but people being given the gift to heal others.

Everything from bad backs to MS and even cancer.

The stories from the conference itself were numerous.

A young woman was healed of chronic fatigue; a deaf person regained their hearing. First person testimonies but also people who knew them before their healing also backing up their story.

I think over 100 healings were reported with all sorts of ailments that could be tested then and there, over 80 per cent healed.

(It’s impossible to know how many others were healed but not all problems can be tested immediately).

And by the way you didn’t need to be a Christian to receive healing.

There were testimonies of non-believers being healed.

Two things I am certain of after this event.

Firstly, there are a lot of people who have physical and emotional things that need healing.

Almost everyone has something.

Secondly, despite my attitude, God does in fact heal today.

Not everyone but a lot.

It’s not just for other cultures and other times.

It’s for us, right here, right now.

All this was not new to me.

We regularly have stories healings from our church, right here in the Five Valleys.

But I want to see it more.

Wouldn’t it be weird not to?

Do you or someone you know need healing?
