Frampton Youth Football Club (Frampton on Severn) v US Bourgbarré, France - International football weekend - May 6-8, 2016

FRAMPTON Youth Football Club hosted a full weekend of football, fun and camaraderie with our like minded French friends and it turned out to be a scorching success.

Frampton’s Parish Council representatives John Howe and Ross Heaton welcomed the French group of 75 youth and 20 accompanying parents with speeches in French and English.

The sun shone throughout the weekend, where on Saturday FYFC held an International football tournament for our U10s/U11s, U12s/U13s, U15/U16s.

Some brilliant football matches with serious talent apparent from both sides.

We also managed to get the adult men’s teams together for a very competitive game at the end of the day.

Sheep racing followed for a bit of fun, and to educate our French friends of our local customs.

There was superb food cooked throughout the weekend, prepared by Mums and friends of the club.

Also an entertainer, disco and lots of singing completing the weekend.

FYFC would like to thank Attwoolls as main sponsor of the marquee, and all their volunteers who enabled the weekend to run smoothly.

Ian Palmer, Chairman said, “We are so proud of this very special relationship we have with US Bourgbarré, and look forward to this continuing into the future. In fact, we are planning our FYFC trip to Bourgbarré 2017 already!”.

FYFC is a community youth football club with hopes and aspirations – our latest project is raising funds towards our new Indoor Training Facility.
