Congregational Church 'Garden' Party
YOU don’t always need a garden to hold a ‘Garden Party’.
On Saturday, June 4, the Congregational Church Hall in Stroud, was beautifully decorated with flags and flowers in celebration of the Queens 90th birthday.
Tables were set with vintage china, tea pots etc and it looked really special. Invitations had been sent and Sunday best attire had been requested as well as ladies to wear hats, which they did.
A wonderful atmosphere with music playing a welcoming glass of juice or punch before sitting down to a lovely tea prepared by the ladies of the church.
To close the celebrations, a toast was made to the Queen and Happy Birthday sung.
On leaving, someone was heard to say “What a lovely way to spend a Saturday afternoon”.
No charge was made, but a plate for donations raised £132 for ‘Hope for Tomorrow’ a charity for a mobile cancer therapy unit.
