Randwick Gardening Club: Kate Clowes was welcomed back with an interesting and informative talk “Here I Hoe Again”
MEMBERS met in the village hall on Tuesday, June 14, there was a happy buzz of voices in anticipation of the programme to come!
The Chairman spoke of the sadness learning of the death of ex member Dennis Flynn, a card of condolence was sent to Hazel his wife.
With regret we were forced to cancel the outing to Millhouse Gardens, Salisbury, through lack of interest, unfortunately the same may happen
if numbers do not improve for the visit to Edge Villa, Yockleton, Shrewsbury, on Thursday, August 18, costing just £19 including coach and
entrance to garden.
The list will remain open until July 12, if you intend to join us please contact either Ann Adams on 01453 758 353 or Betty Clark on 01453 751796 as soon as possible at “Rosebank”.
Itineraries for the Annual Holiday have been issued which gives pickup times. The Chairman said that she hoped they would enjoy the gardens she had chosen for them.
The next Committee meeting will be on Monday, July 4, at Rosebank, Ruscombe, starting at 2.30pm.
Our guest speaker Kate Clowes was welcomed back with “Here I Hoe Again” which proved just as interesting and informative as we had
anticipated, the plants which Kate had brought along for demonstration were much appreciated and were offered for sale afterwards, and eagerly purchased by the members!
Iris gave a vote of thanks to Kate, especially as she was in pain from a back injury and had not wanted to let us down.
This was followed by refreshments and the raffle, the winners were Irene Byron and Pat Muncaster.
