Maggie’s Cheltenham Gardeners Feature in New Inspirational Podcast

MAGGIE’S, the charity which offers free practical, emotional and social support to people with cancer and their family and friends, has released its fourth instalment in the Maggie’s Podcast series.

‘Come into the garden’ delves into the therapeutic aspects of gardens and gardening and how Maggie’s gardens help people to live well with cancer.

The podcast features interviews with Maggie’s Cheltenham Centre visitors as well as Newsnight presenter and keen gardener Kirsty Wark and landscape gardener and daughter of Maggie Keswick Jencks, Lily Jencks.

Maggie’s Centres offer visitors carefully considered outdoor spaces, gardens and views which contribute to the overall healing environment.

Each garden is carefully created to be a welcoming extension of the inside space, offering uplifting views out from each Centre and a connection to the changing seasons and, in warmer weather, a pleasant place to sit and relax.

Jane Fide, Centre Head at Maggie’s Cheltenham comments; “At Maggie’s Cheltenham the design of our Centre and garden is really important to the people who visit and work in the Centre. Spending some time outdoors not only offers some light exercise and stress relief but also a chance to talk to others who are going through a similar experience to them in an informal environment.”

Come into the garden will be available to download from the Maggie’s website and the Maggie’s iTunes channel now.
