Monkey Business in Uplands to raise funds for Uplands Primary School

BACK by popular demand, the Monkeys of Uplands School are being let loose again and the trail to find them will be taking place over the weekend of July 9-10, 2016.

This will be the third time that the trail has been run, raising money for Uplands School PTA.

This year, as well as the two trails – one ‘Up the Hill’ and one ‘Down the Hill’ – there will be a smaller Mini Monkey Trail for younger children.

All kinds of monkeys are hidden along the trails and each one has a letter beside it which solves a puzzle on the trail maps.

This year some of the monkeys are being ‘sponsored’ by local firms, and the monkeys are even dressed up appropriately.

“We had such a lovely family day hunting for the monkeys, we also walked around parts of Uplands we’d never seen before. We will definitely be getting involved again this year” Hayley Pownall, parent from Uplands Primary School.

There are two great prizes on offer this year: West Midlands Safari Park have again donated tickets to the winner of the main trails, and Cotswold Farm Park have given tickets for the winner of the Mini Monkey Trail.

“We will be offering refreshments in the school hall, and on the Saturday the school Summer Sizzle is also taking place, so there will be lots going on that day” said organiser Gillian Holmes.

“We’re really grateful to West Midlands Safari Park and Cotswold Farm Park for donating the tickets for first prizes and to local businesses for sponsoring the monkeys” added fellow organiser Amanda Andrews.

Monkey Trail maps can be purchased along with refreshments at Uplands School from 11am – 5pm on Saturday 9 and Sunday, July 10.

The Summer Sizzle is from 2pm on the Saturday.

We'd like to thank DCS (Decorative Concrete Specialists) for their generous donation which will cover the cost of the event and also substantially contribute towards the annual whole school pantomime trip.

Tesco, Sainsbury's and Waitrose have also kindly donated vouchers to help buy the supplies we need for the cafe.
