Painswick RFC Colts on tour to Magaluf

PAINSWICK RFC Colts have had a great year, thoroughly enjoying their training, games and the social part of rugby both on and off the pitch.

They have won, drawn and lost throughout the year but have kept up the great team spirit throughout.

It has been an absolute pleasure to see them grow this season and I would like to thank Paul Watson, the coach and all of the parents for their support but mainly to the players for giving it their all.

We decided to end the year by going on tour and this year we went to Magaluf.

We went on the May bank holiday weekend where 33 of us turned up to Bristol Airport all dressed as Where’s Wally and the fun continued from there.

On the Friday evening the Colts took part in a Round Robin competition between two local teams; Ponent and El Torro.

We then attended the Beach Rugby opening party, once again in fancy dress which everybody took part and looked amazing.

On the Saturday we played in the Majorca Beach Rugby Tournament playing some other local teams as well as some visiting teams too.

This is a professionally organised tournament where teams from all over the world take part.

Throughout the Beach Rugby the Colts and Painswick supporters all wore tutus in memory of a past Colts player, Kai Hannis, who sadly died last year.

Again on the Sunday we played a mixed game of beach rugby involving the parents, coaches and players with another visiting team followed by some sightseeing.

We returned home in the early hours of Monday morning with hopefully some great memories.

I would like to thank our kit sponsors; Nicholas Hartshorn Kitchens and Bathrooms, CLG Engineering, Damp and Decay Direct Limited, Motorfix, Renishaw and Nigel Berriman.

The kit looks amazing and the Colts really appreciate it – Thank you.

Thank you for a great and memorable season and see you all in September.
