Sponsorship support key to sporting success for Ebley Youth FC

A GLOUCESTERSHIRE youth football team has ended their season in glory with the help of leading telecoms company Glamorgan Telecom Limited.

Ebley Youth under 16s finished the season as double champions, winning both the Stroud Youth League and Tom Moore League Cup, with Glamorgan Telecom supporting the team as kit sponsors.

After being runners up in both competitions for the last two seasons the players and coaching staff left no stone unturned going into the 15/16 campaign.

Ebley under 16s secured the league title with two games remaining, and completed the double with a 3-1 victory in the cup final.

It is the first time in the club’s history that one of its youth teams has completed the double, and Ebley under 16s also broke records with their free-flowing play, securing the highest goals scored in any season with an impressive 146 goals.

Club Chairman and Under 16s manager Shane Mathews said: “We would like to thank Glamorgan Telecom for its continued support in sponsoring our under 16s youth team.

“If it wasn’t for companies like Glamorgan Telecom offering to support grassroots football, we would struggle to fund training equipment and purchase new kits, so we are very grateful for their financial support.”

Kelly Bolderson, managing director for Glamorgan Telecom, said: “We are delighted that Ebley under 16s finished the season as champions, and we are very happy to have played a small part in their success. It’s always rewarding to get behind the local community and we hope the players achieve the same success next season.”

Glamorgan Telecom Ltd has been providing telephony solutions to the South Wales and South West business market place since 1993.
