The new Stroud Valleys Rotary Satellite Club
THE New Stroud Valleys Rotary Satellite Club was formed at a well attended informal meeting at The Stroud Imperial Hotel, last Tuesday, September 6.
Martyn Harwood (Past District Governor) welcomed every one to the meeting and explained how the club should work.
It is intended for men and women aged between 18-45 years.
It will give them chance to give something back to the community and enjoy helping others.
Consist of fun and friendship, with regular social events.
Obtain business contacts,from all sectors of business.
Gain personal development, building leadership, public speaking, also social, business, personal and vocational skills.
Other speakers present during the evening were, Martin Greaves (Assistant Governor) who explained how Rotary worked internationally, Eric Brownbill (Stroud President) who explained how we were already working within the community and David Waite (Vice President) informed the group of future fund raising events and functions.
With Rotary having over 1800 clubs and over 50,000 members in the UK these new members will be part of a Great World Wide Organisation.
The Next meeting will be held at The Imperial Hotel, Stroud on Tuesday, September 20, at 7pm.
