Local softball team, Cotswold Chaos, just miss out on the Plate Trophy

A SOFTBALL tournament took place on Sunday, October 2, at Archway School.

The local team, the Cotswold Chaos had its best showing ever, just missing out on the Plate Trophy.

They were one of 12 teams who took part.

They finished second in their group of four teams with two victories including a 16-3 drubbing of the Cardiff Cardinals, which qualified them to play for the Plate Trophy.

During the playoffs, the Chaos won their first ever playoff game and looked poised to win it all but hopes were sunk with a heartbreaking 12-11 loss to the Cardiff Hurricanes.

(Note: only three teams came from Cardiff, it just happens that the Chaos played all three teams.)

While efforts from the entire Chaos team were commendable, the most notable was from the husband and wife duo of Jayson and Browynne Bird who both contributed greatly both batting and fielding.

The Chaos will be looking for players, male and female for next year, anyone wishing to try out softball is welcome to contact Michael LeFevre at tobychainsaw@hotmail.com
