Stroud Wine Circle with Peter Berry
THE September meeting saw a welcome return of Peter Berry from Gloucester who has a passion for steam locomotives and has travelled to many parts of the world in pursuit of his hobby.
On this occasion he took us on a journey from the Dead Sea to Damascus and en route visited The Rose Red City.
Petra and The Colonnaded Roman City which was built when the Roman Empire was at its greatest, eventually the expedition ended at Damascus.
This was a first class presentation and he was thanked by chairperson Valerie Fussell.
There were two competitions with the ‘Lees’ cup being won by Dave Marlow, his wife, Brenda came second and Joyce Meadows third.
The ‘Crichton Tankard’ was won by Brenda Marlow with husband Dave second.
