ON NOVEMBER 10, Gastrells Primary School held a gifted and talented netball day in Stroud.
Alongside Gastrells, Kings Stanley, Horsley, Bisley-Bluecoat, Old Sodbury, and Longney took part.
Miss Kelly (former County Netball Coach and County Player) and Mrs Smith coached the participants.
To start the day off, we headed on to the playground and did a variety of netball drills from the England Netball Regional Program.
We did a number of activities which we hadn’t done before, including attacking drills as well as partnered defensive exercises, and it was great to perform the same skill based tasks that the England Netballers would do.
Then in the afternoon, we had a tournament; we mixed up the teams so that there were a variety of students from each school in each team.
Throughout the course of the day, we had made many new friends and it was obvious that the talent of netball had improved from the beginning of the day.
