Stroud Valleys Music Club: another ‘duo‘ from Club members
AT OUR last meeting we enjoyed another ‘duo‘ from Club members.
In the first half Jenny Buckland gave a varied selection of music illustrating our ‘Green and Pleasant Land’.
Many of the pieces were less familiar yet most enjoyable from a range of composers that included Gerald Finzi and Dame Ethel Smythe.
In the second half Margaret Burtt gave us a programme taken from her record archive with a sequence of ‘Dancing Through the Ages’.
Her steps led us through many parts of Europe, including a waltz along the Blue Danube along with dances from neighbouring countries.
The meeting on December 14, will be our regular Christmas social evening.
Our programme will then resume on January 25, with a special Burns Night celebration of Scottish music and soup.
