‘It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas’

SO BEGINS the song and at Saint James’, Quedgeley there has certainly been a Christmas feel to events during the last month.

Saint James’ held its Christmas Fayre at the Community Centre in Quedgeley.a couple of weeks ago.

Although raising just over a £1,000. the money is already earmarked to pay the utility bills and maintenance of the church building.

The annual Rector’s raffle also took place and raised a staggering £220 but this is being used towards the repair of the church clock.

However, there was Christmas fun at the monthly family service.

The craft activity featured Rudolf the Reindeer.

Everyone was encouraged to take part and the children loved gluing the coloured paper and red noses onto pre-cut blank reindeer faces.

There was also a buffet lunch at the end of the morning service.

Cedric the puppet fox along with Maddie another puppet made their monthly appearances.

Father John Rector and Parish Priest said: ‘The events over the last month have been amazing. Funding is a key essential at the moment. I’d like to thank the community groups within Quedgeley who have supported us throughout the year so generously. Our Christmas services begin on Christmas Eve with the Crib service at 4pm. This is always popular with children.’
