Cainscross WI: Christmas Party with Sue Edwards and her Autoharps
WE HELD our annual Christmas party in St Matthew’s Church Hall on the first Tuesday in December with a full turnout of members, plus one or two visitors.
We dispensed with business for the evening and had a really fun time with a lovely meal of ham, hot potatoes and some delicious homemade salads, washed down with wine or fruit juices.
We then enjoyed several choices of dessert (no calories there then!) and finished off with tea or coffee, mince pies and chocolate mints - time to loosen the waistbands!
We also were joined by Sue Edwards and her Autoharps, which she played during the evening and invited us to ‘have a go’ if we wanted.
She sang along to one or two songs and finished with ‘Silent Night’ which was lovely with Christmas fast approaching.
It was great that Sue could also join us for the meal and we hope she enjoyed the evening as much as we all did.
We called the raffle and announced the winners of the year’s Rose Bowl Competitions as:-
First - Mary Jarrett with 15 points
Second (joint winners) - Margaret Adams and Tina Hewgill with 11 points
Third - Val Dalby with six points.
Our next meeting, the first one of 2017, will fall on Tuesday, January 3, 2017, and will take place as usual in St Matthew’s Church Hall, Cainscross starting at 7.15pm.
We will have a Social Evening with members free to bring along any craft projects they may have underway, or just enjoy a chat, cup of coffee and catch up with friends.
New members or visitors will be very welcome to join us.
