Stroud & District Conservative Women's Luncheon Club enjoy a talk on the history of the Woodchester Mansion by Liz Davenport
AT THEIR February meeting the Stroud & District Conservative Women's Luncheon Club enjoyed a most interesting talk and slide show on the history of the Woodchester Mansion by Liz Davenport.
Liz is a volunteer and guide at the Mansion.
It was fascinating to hear about the stone and wood carvings, and about the architects, the last being Benjamin Bucknall who was a local man.
The Mansion and the extensive grounds are now managed by the Woodchester Mansion Trust, and can now be enjoyed by so many people.
Wendy Cannon thanked Liz Davenport for her talk, and reminded members that the next luncheon is on March 9.
