Give it up for Maggie’s

COULD you give up a little indulgence for 40 days and 40 nights?

Abstain from a small luxury or guilty pleasure this lent, and support Maggie’s Cheltenham to provide free practical, emotional and social support for people with cancer and their family and friends.

It can be chocolate, wine or cheese; videogames, swearing or even social media! This Pancake Day, choose something to say good-bye to until Easter Sunday.

Maggie’s Cheltenham’s very own Fundraising Manager Anna Mason has decided to forgo wheat for Maggie’s this Lent: “Pancake Day is one of my favourite days of the year, but after midnight there will be no more wheat for me until Easter! It’s probably the most challenging thing I could have chosen to live without.”

Set yourself the challenge like Anna and prove that you can do it by asking your friends and family to support and sponsor you.

Any funds you raise will help Maggie’s to support people affected by cancer in your local community.

Jane Fide, Centre Head at Maggie’s Cheltenham said: “Giving something up for Maggie’s this Lent is great way to support us whilst challenging yourself and having a bit of fun! As a charity, the Centre relies on fundraising support from individuals to continue to develop our unique, high quality programme of support for people affected by cancer in the Three Counties.”

Built close to Cheltenham General Hospital Maggie’s Cheltenham is a warm and welcoming place, with qualified professionals on hand to offer an evidence-based core programme of support that has been shown to improve physical and emotional wellbeing.
