Hopelands Preparatory School Does World Book Day in Style

IT MAY have been a day later than other schools; but Hopelands Preparatory School knows how to dress-up!

All that rooting around in the dressing up boxes (or hitting eBay and the sewing machines) certainly paid off as the wide variety of costumes on display show.

For its 20th year World Book Day was celebrated by Hopelands with competitions for all the children to participate in.

Key Stage 1 pupils drew their favourite book character, Key Stage 2 designed a new book jacket for their favourite book and all the children were asked to bring in a packed lunch that they thought would appeal to the character they were dressed as. …No roasted mice for the Gruffalo though.

The children were also entertained by stories and drama brought to them by Agent Green, The Dragon Whisperer (otherwise known as Chloë of the Midnight Storytellers) who is a Cotswold based spoken word artist, slam poet and writer.

Mrs Preece moaned that ‘everyone is having such a good time I received barely any visitors to my loo at all today!’

Hopelands Preparatory School will be hosting an Open Morning on Friday, March 17.
