The cherry on the top!

KEEPING Abreast South West are holding their annual ‘Booby Cupcake’ week and are asking everyone to get baking, and have some decorating fun, booby themed or otherwise!

The group support women considering, undergoing or post breast reconstruction surgery after a diagnosis of breast cancer, or due to the discovery of a breast cancer gene.

The idea originally came from Jacky Robertson, former Chairman of the Bristol & Cheltenham group, but now runs the Cheltenham/Gloucester Group, who said that after surviving mastectomy and breast cancer treatment, having reconstruction and getting her natural shape and cleavage back was… “the cherry on the top of the cake!” as such Booby Cupcake Week was born.

Susan from Keeping Abreast South West said: “We would love for people to get involved, either by attending and supporting our event, or by hosting their own event and baking cupcakes and other treats for friends, family and colleagues, and have some fundraising fun at home, at a club or at work”.

Lisa Becker from Central Support at Keeping Abreast said: “A number of coffee mornings, afternoon teas and cake sales have already been planned across the country and it is hoped that even more people will get involved in fundraising to continue and expand our network of support groups”.

If you would like to get involved and want to receive your fundraising ‘pink pack’ full of marketing materials and advice to help you make your event a success.
