Stroud's local family charity Home-Start is running a training course for volunteers who would like to make a positive difference for young families.

Alex Corgier, Scheme Manager, says: "Over the last year we have received over 100 referrals to support local families. We know that many parents need help, friendship, advice or support during the those early years when children are young. We train and introduce experienced parents to some of these families who visit on a weekly basis offering bespoke non-judgemental support."

The training course commences on Thursday, April 27, over ten weeks in term-time only, from 10am until 2.30pm.

It's a great opportunity to get involved in your local community, get a good training in family support and to meet new people.

If you have a two or three hours a week spare to get involved in this fantastic charity and local resource then just give the office a call on 01453-297470 or visit their website homestartsd.org
