Open for business!
THE first day of term yesterday celebrated another “Horsley First”, with the official opening of a new Eco Loo in the school playground.
The new toilet provides a much needed solution to the problem of children needing the toilet during break, lunch or outdoor lessons having to return to the main school building, which is some distance away.
As there are no services in the playground, an alternative approach was required, and a composting toilet from NatSol was the answer.
Horsley is the very first school in Gloucestershire to have a composting toilet, and to mark the occasion we welcomed back former Interim Head David Williams, who first came up with this novel solution to a long-standing problem.
David officially opened the new toilet and read a specially composed poem which was written for the occasion by former parent David Barker.
