Stonehouse Gardening Club is going places!

AT THE AGM meeting of the club early this month, a summary of a very successful year of meetings included news of the Club’s new project to prepare and plant a Winter Wildlife Plot.

You can see this taking shape near the London-bound platform of Stonehouse Railway station.

This has now been planted up with the winter flowering shrubs, and awaits some summer annuals to keep the bees buzzing.

The short AGM was followed by a talk by Robert Bryant on a Year-Long Walk in Woodchester.

The exceptional photos of birds, insects and the woodland had members reaching for their walking boots.

The next meeting will be on May 3, when organic gardener Elaine Shears from GOGG will be talking on Growing and Storing Vegetables.

The Club will be holding a Stall on the Green in Stonehouse on Saturday, May 13 from 9am to 11am, and welcome the chance to chat to anybody about plants and gardening, as they sell plants.
