Arlingham WI: Resolutions
THE business of the evening was led by Chris.
Activities on offer include walks at Staunton and Brockhampton, croquet, the GFWI Christmas Concerts and the Centenary Competition to design and make a wall hanging.
There was no speaker this month as the meeting was devoted to discussing the Resolutions.
The first resolution to alleviate microplastic fibres from clothes was supported by the WI and a discretionary vote awarded to our delegate.
The second resolution was for the NFWI to work alongside healthcare professionals to raise awareness of loneliness.
This was unanimously supported by our members.
There was a tie for first place in the May competition for something blue, with Bernie entering an owl and Jeanette a fish bottle.
Third place went to Sue with a bowl of blueberries.
The raffle was won by Maureen.
Refreshments by Linda and Mo were much appreciated.
Beautiful flowers from Carol will be presented to Barbara.
Forthcoming events include skittles, lunch at Edgemore and afternoon tea at Burleigh Court.
There will be no meeting in June.
Our July meeting will take place on July 13 and the competition will be for something purple.
Arlingham WI meet on the second Thursday of each month at 7.30pm in Arlingham Village Hall.
New members are most welcome, just come along on the night.
