Leonard Stanley WI: Resolutions
OUR meeting opened unusually with a number of apologies due to sickness and holidays, following by Maureen presenting a birthday plant to Madeleine.
Our help at the Easter Egg/Dragon Hunt had been much appreciated and members were pleased to hear that one of our teams had got through to the next round of the County Quiz.
Apart from various items of business, most of this month’s meeting concentrated on the Resolutions which will be discussed and voted on at the 2017 Annual Meeting in Liverpool next month.
After a thorough discussion on the subject of ‘Alleviating loneliness’ and ‘Plastic Soup: keep microplastic fibres out of our oceans’ both very worthwhile topics, it was decided to leave the decision to our delegate, Chris to listen to the arguments and use her discretion on how to vote.
After a welcome cup of tea, members produced a range of Christmas cards in preparation for the Children’s Christmas box Appeal.
Many thanks to Madeleine for organising and leading the session and also to Margaret (who unfortunately was not able to attend the meeting).
On June 12, Angela Panrucker will talk about Quaint & Quirky Gloucestershire and the competition will be an a musing poem. Visitors are always welcome.
