Longney Primary Academy Fundraising Beer Festival
THE sixth annual Longney Beer Festival was a great success at the weekend.
The weather was fine and the venue had been stunningly decorated with bunting and bales and the ceiling was full of brightly coloured material swags and fairy lights.
Two great bands performed at the event.
Jon Clare and the Dough boys certainly got everyone dancing.
The hog roast and bacon baps seemed to sate the appetite of the punters in the packed barn and thirsts were most certainly quenched.
All but one barrel of beer had sold out by the end of the night.
Furbar by the Tiny Rebel brewery of Newport being the favourite.
This event, in support of Longney Primary Academy certainly drew in the political crowd.
The event was hosted by Bekki Christian, Parish Councillor for Longney and Epney and also in attendance were the newly elected County Councillor for Severnside, Stephen Davies and current MP Neil Carmichael.
It was a fabulous show of community spirit for the small rural school, over 320 people in attendance when there are only 70 families at the school.
