A taster of learning with learndirect

LEARNDIRECT Stroud recently opened their doors to showcase their courses and qualifications to local support organisations and referral partners so can better understand the services provided to their clients.

Attendees included Neil Carmichael, MP and representatives from Stroud District Council, Poundland, the Independence Trust, The Door, Grace Network, Bromford House, Gem Project, Supported Housing, APT, Travail, GL11, Tescos, Citizens Advice, Scarlet House, Open House and Wilkos.

Everyone had the opportunity to meet learndirect staff, network with referral partners and learn more about the work learndirect do to enhance skills, qualifications and employability in Stroud.

Guests were invited to take part in interactive taster sessions led by learndirect tutors to gain first-hand and real experiences of the learner experience and see what it’s like to do a course with learndirect.

This included writing a personal profile for a CV and completing an English screener.

Feedback on the day was really positive, with comments like ‘…what lovely people you all are. I found the taster sessions very useful and really appreciate the effort you all put into showing us how you operate and sharing your philosophy of nurturing and developing the people who come through your doors.’

learndirect would like to thank all of their partners in the community for their continuous support and for participating at the open day.
